Supported Living Services
The Saffronland Supported Living service was established in 2002 and supports service users to live independently in their own homes.
These are achieved by respecting the needs and wishes of service users and encouraging their individual aspirations on a day to day basis. Fully understanding and knowing those placed in our care is key to the support process, something we accomplish by listening to the service users, their relatives and advocates to build tailored programmes of care and support.
Each service user is allocated a key worker to work with them in the overall planning and delivery of the support that is needed. Service planning for individuals includes creating opportunities for education, employment, leisure, recreational and social and life skills development. Service users are supported to manage their finances and to develop their budgeting skills.
The Service operates every day of the year at times to suit the individual. We also provide an out of hours 'on-call' for people to access should an emergency arise.
Every person receives support, to help them make informed choices about all aspects that affect their lives in whatever they want to do and how they want to live. Our aim is to enable each person to become as independent as possible. The support we provide is flexible and based on the person's needs, preferences and wishes.
Saffronland Supported Living Services focuses on the individual, using Person Centred Planning to underpin all activities. We believe it is crucial to know the individual well and wherever possible to closely involve families and others who care about the service user.
Person Centred Planning evolves as individual needs change.
Fundamental to the service we provide is the value we place on the individual and the right to live their life their way and not ours.
